What we offer
This program gives you the chance to work with us while you study an undergraduate podiatry degree at one of the following universities:
- Charles Sturt University – Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine, all listed locations
- CQ University – Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours), locations in Central Queensland
- QUT – Bachelor of Podiatry, locations in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work up to 2 days per week in a Queensland Health facility as a Health Practitioner Level 1 (HP1), under the supervision of a qualified podiatrist.
We’ll support you with professional development opportunities while you gain hands on experience working with patients.
As part of the program, you’ll:
- diagnose and treat lower limb conditions
- check patient blood flow and amputation risks
- fit and adjust orthopaedic aids such as moonboots
- apply medical padding, strapping and dressings
- help with minor procedures
- provide foot care to improve patient comfort and movement.

Who can join
To join the program, you’ll need to:
- live in Queensland
- be enrolled in or applying for entry to an approved undergraduate podiatry degree
- show proof you’ve had the vaccines you need to work with us.
