About the program
This program helps basic paediatric trainees prepare for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians clinical examination.
The course covers:
- the key subspecialty topics that are relevant to the clinical exam
- helpful tips and common mistakes in the long case and short case
- practical demonstrations and advice on exam preparation.
This course complements other clinical exam preparation, for example hospital based long case and short case preparation. It doesn’t include live long or short case presentations.

Dates and location
Paediatric Clinical Examination Preparation Program
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026
Auditorium, Queensland Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane
The course is delivered in person over the weekend. If you can’t attend, you’ll be able to watch recordings online until the end of June 2026.
Course cost
$400 - for both in person participants and those accessing online recordings.
The course is free to Queensland network trainees who are sitting the exam and working at the following hospitals at the time of registration.
- Bundaberg
- Cairns
- Hervey Bay
- Mackay
- Rockhampton
- Townsville
Program coordinators
The program is developed by Queensland paediatric specialists, coordinated by the Queensland Basic Paediatric Training Network and supported by the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
