Training programs

The Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) provides training and continuing education for rehabilitation medicine fellows and trainees throughout all stages of their career. AFRM is a Faculty of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).

There are several private training sites who take part in this process.

You can apply for the Queensland Rehabilitation Training Network when you apply for the RMO campaign. Before you apply, make sure you read the AFRM Registrar Education Program [PDF 264.72 KB] and the Rehabilitation Selection and Process Guidelines [PDF 551.09 KB].

If you need help completing your preferences at Step 10: Preferences section in the application, use the rehabilitation preference guide [PDF 299.68 KB].

You’ll also require reports from 2 referees.

Interviews and selection

The recruitment and selection process complies with relevant Queensland Health human resource policies including the principles of equal employment opportunity.

The selection process will be a panel interview with the Directors or their delegates of each hospital. Positions are allocated primarily according to ranking based on written application, CV, referee reports, interview, and other mitigating circumstances.

Key dates

You can apply for a position when you apply for the RMO campaign. Applications for the campaign are open Monday 1 June to Monday 29 June 2026. We won’t accept late applications.
