Applications

Apply for rural advanced skills training positions in obstetrics and gynaecology, mental health, palliative care, paediatrics, internal medicine and anaesthetics.

Applications open: Monday 13 April 2026 at 9 am

Applications close: Monday 27 April 2026 at 3 pm

Late applications will not be accepted for Anaesthetics. Under extenuating circumstances, late applications may be considered for the other disciplines.

We review and shortlist applications from 28 April to 6 May 2026.

Interviews

  • Anaesthetics: Monday 18 May 2026
  • Obstetrics and gynaecology: Wednesday 20 May 2026
  • Paediatrics: Thursday 21 May 2026
  • Palliative care: Friday 22 May 2026
  • Internal medicine and mental health: Wednesday 27 May 2026

Interviews will be held online. We rank applicants based on their application, referee reports, CV and interview. The day after each interview session, we present ranked candidates to hospitals. The hospital may run another round of interviews to decide between applicants.

Application outcome

We'll let you know the outcome of your application in mid to late-June 2026.
