Building, Engineering and Maintenance service employees – BEMS9

Status: : Arbitration for BEMS9 began in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) in April 2026 and is continuing

BEMS8 expired on 31 August 2025 however, all existing terms and conditions continue to apply until the QIRC makes a determination on the matters in dispute. As a result, employees continue to be covered by the current BEMS8 provisions while arbitration is underway.

Health Practitioners and Dental Officers – HPDO5

Status: Arbitration for HPDO5 began in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) in June 2026 and is continuing

HPDO4 expired on 16 October 2025 however, its terms and conditions will continue to apply until the QIRC makes a determination on the matters in dispute. As a result, employees continue to be covered by the current HPDO4 provisions while arbitration is underway.

Visiting Medical Officers – VMO2

Status: Queensland Health has reached in-principle agreement with unions and their members on VMO2. After drafting of the agreement is complete, employees will be consulted and encouraged to vote on VMO2.

VMO1 terms and conditions will continue to apply until the replacement agreement is certified.

Four recent enterprise bargaining processes have been certified and are now operational.
