Your role as a supply officer

As a supply officer, you’ll look after the day to day management of medical supplies in our hospitals and health centres.

This includes:

  • checking stock levels
  • buying, receiving and storing new supplies
  • packing, transporting and delivering supplies.

We have full time, part time and casual roles, and you may work shifts as part of a team.

What your day might look like

Many of our supply officers work in hospitals and health facilities, but we also have roles in our offices and distribution centres. You’ll start the day by checking our stock system and making sure there are enough supplies in places like our:

  • wards and special care units
  • operating theatres
  • emergency department
  • specialist and dental clinics.

You’ll work closely with staff and suppliers to order, maintain and store a range of supplies, like:

  • gloves, masks and medical gowns
  • syringes and bandages
  • cleaning supplies
  • medical devices and equipment.

A big part of your job is dealing with supply problems or urgent requests. You’ll find ways to quickly get supplies to where we need them the most.

You’ll pack and distribute orders, including arranging transport for orders to locations across Queensland. And you’ll keep our electronic systems up to date so we can track our supplies and where we’re using them.
