Your role as a health administration officer

As a health administration officer, you’ll support health services by:

  • managing patient records and staff information
  • booking appointments and scheduling services
  • answering phone and email enquiries
  • general office and administrative tasks.

We have full time, part time and casual roles, and some include shift work.

What your day might look like

You’ll start your shift by checking emails, updating records or preparing paperwork. During the day, you’ll respond to requests, book appointments and keep information up to date.

You’ll work in hospitals, aged care and community health settings.

You’ll work with doctors, nurses and other health professionals to support patient care.

Qualifications

You can usually work as a health administration officer without formal qualifications.

It can be beneficial to do a CertificateIII or IV in Health Administration or Certificate III in Business Administration.
